Biography:

Art Carroll’s photographs documented all facets of life and work at East Base, including the repair of the damage to the Curtiss Condor aircraft.  Carroll’s aerial photographs made on ten flights from East Base documented numerous discoveries.  Carroll was born on January 4, 1907 and died on January 24, 1992.

 

US Antarctic Service Medal (gold):  presented to Carroll by the Governor of Colorado.

Contributions:

Photographic documentation of East Base activities by still and film photography. Much of his work is available in the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in College Park, Maryland. Check Record Group 126
